An Update and Invitation to the Members of the Cape Cinema
The Board of Directors would like to thank the members of the Cape Cinema for your continued support of our organization. While we take this pause in programming, many of you have responded generously to our appeal and we are deeply thankful for your support.
The Board is currently working on a plan for financially sustainable operations. The task at hand is to create enough financial momentum to begin scheduling movies as soon as possible. We hope to raise the funding to allow us to be back up and running again in June, and to be able to continue into the summer season and beyond.
As a next step, the leadership of the Cinema is inviting you to a Community Forum at 1PM on Saturday, May 18th at the Cape Cinema. We are scheduling this Forum to hear your voice to help us better understand the place of the Cape Cinema in our community and to determine its future operations. It is our belief that together we can set the right course for the Cinema that will allow it to continue to play a major role in our community for generations to come.
As we look forward to getting together with you on the18th, whether you can attend or not, please consider supporting the effort by making a tax-deductible contribution to the Cape Cinema. For those of you who already have, thank you, your generosity has encouraged us to go forward with confidence.
As a special reminder, the Met performance will be showing on Saturday, May 11th, as previously scheduled. If you miss the Cape Cinema movie-going experience, please think of attending the Met. It gives us another chance to remind you of the community the Cinema has created for all of us.
We look forward to seeing you soon,
Eric A Hart
